About the Workshop
What will I do in this workshop?
This 3-hour workshop invites you to discover and play with wax as a medium for jewelry making. Through hands-on exploration and guidance, you'll create a personal wax model jewelry piece, which can later be cast into metal if desired.
The aim of this workshop is to introduce you to wax carving techniques - such as modeling, cutting, joining and forming - by working on your own unique jewelry project.
Through a variety of types of wax, we will decide which is the ideal one or combo to use in order approach your project.
No experience needed - open to all skill levels!

What's the stucture of the workshop?
1. Select the type of jewelry you want to make. You can choose to make either a ring, a pair of earrings, a pendant, or a pin. You are always more than welcome to come with another idea and talk about if and how we can give life to your vision.
2. Sketch a design of the jewelry you want to make, front and side view.
3. Then, we choose the type of wax and technique we will use in order to approach your project.
4. Last, we create texture and decoration with the help of heat and carving tools.
5. You can choose if you want to cast your piece in metal or not. There is no pressure :) In case you want to cast it immediately or even sometime in the future, you can read the next step, 6.
6. (optional) In case you'd love to cast your wax piece in metal, then I will send it to a German casting lab in order to cast it in silver 935 or gold. After it will be polished by me. When your piece is ready, you will get an email from me to pick up your jewelry. This step usually takes 2.5 weeks. The casting & polishing costs are not included - *see additional costs below.
How can I prepare for the workshop?
Before the workshop, you’re encouraged to gather ideas and inspiration for your piece. This can include reference images, mood boards, or simple sketches.
Coming prepared with a few visual directions will help you make the most of your time and dive more quickly into the making process.
* What if I want to cast my wax jewelry model?
COST OF CASTING
[ ~60€ _ if it weighs 10g]
this cost includes:
1.work of caster
2.(current price of Silver925 €/1g ) x (e.g. 10g )
3. 19% vat
After the casting, I will forward you the invoice with the exact cost. Approximately 1g of wax is equal to 10g of Silver925, which costs more or less 60€ (this depends on the daily price of silver)
A 10g ring is the weight of a common ring. You are free to make jewelry with less or more volume.
At the end of the workshop we will weigh your wax model. A deposit of money should be transferred in order to proceed with the casting. The difference will be returned depending on the caster's invoice. (click here to proceed with a deposit)
I collect the invoices the day when I collect the casted jewelry. This means after 1-2 weeks, depending on the caster's workload.
COST OF POLISHING

An after-casting jewelry piece needs to be sanded and polished.
In case you want to do it yourself, you can skip this service and its cost.
